The story begins in an old folks home perched high above the cranking right of Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. Home of Will’s Aunt Tikkie and her senior knitting club. On hearing about Staunch, Aunt Tikkie was keen to help her dearest nephew with his new clothing label. Tikkie and her granny friends sat up pouring over patterns. Finally they dug deep into their knitting baskets and the surfer sock was born.

A slipper, sock hybrid, the humble surfer sock is the perfect antidote for people with cold feet. More compact than its bulky brother the slipper, yet more versatile than its limp sister the sock.
